It’s been a busy and weird week with a five-day weekend from school for the President’s Day holiday, insane nearly 80-degree weather for a few days and then the temps dropping about 35 degrees within a 24-hour period. I spent most of the week unsure if it was February or May, or what day it was … but now it’s time for Friday Faves!
Teapigs Jelly and Ice Cream Tea
I drink at least 3-4 cups of tea a day and while I’m pretty picky about my tea, I’m always looking for something new to try. Shout out to my friend Christine from What Would Kate Do & Meghan’s Mirror for alerting me to this jelly and ice cream tea from Teapigs. If you’re in the mood for something sweet but don’t want to stuff yourself with candy or cake, this is a nice alternative. I just ordered two new boxes because I’m always afraid it’s going to be discontinued. It’s been “limited edition” for probably a year at this point so let’s hope they keep it forever! You need to purchase the jelly flavor from Teapigs directly, but select flavors are available with free shipping on Amazon Prime (I love the peppermint and superfruit).
One thing I love about Teapigs is their “tea temples” are fully biodegradable; most teabags are made out of plastic and this is really hurtful to the environment. You can read more about plastic in teabags here. After I found this out I’ve made a point to use brands with environmentally friendly bags or I use loose leaf tea, which is much more satisfying to brew, anyway.
Grace and Lace Moto Jeggings
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a pair of olive green Zara biker jeans last spring, and I was pretty excited when I got an email from one of my favorite online clothing companies, Grace and Lace, that they were debuting a very similar pair of moto jeggings. Even better, the Grace and Lace jeggings are ELASTIC WAIST. Listen, I used to make fun of my grandma for wearing elastic waist jeans back in the day and I take it all back. These jeggings have pockets and are made from a stretchy khaki kind of material so they totally look like real pants, but way better. #elasticwaist4life
I bought mine last year and have worn them to death, and recently bought a pair in distressed denim as well. They’re like a Meghan-Kate mashup and I love them so much. Yesterday I got an email that they’re now selling a non-distressed/non-moto pair by popular demand, so I will most definitely check those out next time I need a new pair of jeans. Grace and Lace donates a portion of their profits to building orphanages in India, so I love that my purchase goes to a good cause, too.
The Bachelor Winter Games
The regular winter games have been great (I haven’t gone to bed before midnight in about a week due to the figure skating) but let’s talk about another winter games right now. I’ve been watching The Bachelor for 15 years at this point, and other than Jason Mesnick’s entire season and that horribly awkward British Bachelor, I never miss an episode. I’ve been enjoying Arie’s season so far but I have to say The Bachelor Winter Games was a true gem. The season finale was last night and it was definitely one of the best/most dramatic shows in the Bachelor franchise … ever! If you haven’t watched it I HIGHLY recommend you catch up On Demand or on Hulu.
Basically, people who’ve been on The Bachelor/ette in 11 different countries compete in winter Olympic sports like downhill skiing, biathlon, speed skating and ice dancing (and of course the winners get date cards and there are dramatic rose ceremonies). I knew The Bachelor aired overseas, but never realized they actually had their own international versions of The Bachelor in Japan, Sweden, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Switzerland and other countries so it was interesting to get some new personalities in the mix. Plus, familiar favorites like Ben, Dean, Ashley I. and Luke Pell show up. All I’m going to say is someone wasn’t there “for the right reasons” and there is major DRAMA and a shocking end you won’t see coming.
Have a great weekend!
