What a whirlwind of a week! Between Noreaster #1 last Friday and no power for two days, followed by another huge snow storm Wednesday with no school, I’m well and fully done with winter. Not to mention the MOST DRAMATIC FINALE OF THE BACHELOR … EVER (Chris Harrison actually wasn’t exaggerating this time), and then I switched hosts for the blog and had to reconstruct it from scratch this week. Now that I’ve got that sorted I’m back in business and hope you like the new changes! On to this week’s faves:
On Heir Podcast
I was really excited when I first heard about this podcast (and such a clever name, right?). It features one of my favorite royal reporters, Emily Andrews, along with a newer-to-me reporter Omid Scobie, who is great on the podcast. They discuss the latest royal news and it’s all very entertaining and informative. On the debut episode, they cover the Fab 4’s first official engagement and then jump into some Charles and Camz news, royal wedding gossip, etc. A new episode was just released yesterday talking about Harry and Meghan’s Birmingham engagements, Meghan’s baptism and hen party/bridal shower, Kate’s due date, and loads more. You get some great behind-the-scenes deets on the royals. Two tidbits I learned: Although she seems reserved, Kate is actually quite funny and a practical joker, and Camilla is one of their favorite members of the family. Listen to find out why!
Fab Fit Fun Spring Box
I’ve been hearing about the Fab Fit Fun subscription box for a long time, especially because I follow almost everyone who has ever been on The Bachelor/ette on Instagram and they promote this box constantly, plus Fab Fit Fun is a sponsor of my beloved Ben and Ashley I. Almost Famous Podcast. (Yes, I’m a Bachelor geek). After a couple of my friends mentioned how much they loved their Fab Fit Fun boxes I looked into it some more and decided to sign up. For $49.99 (your first box is $39.99 if you use this referral link) you get a box four times a year with full-sized beauty, fashion and lifestyle products worth more than $300, which is just crazytown. For example, the floral clutch is $60 on the Rachel Pally website, and the super-on-trend Etikka tassel earrings are worth $58! I’m definitely going to be putting both of these items on heavy rotation this spring/summer.
So what’s inside? Including the aforementioned clutch and earrings, my Fab Fit Fun box came with 10 products. There are two different lotions: the Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion, a lightweight moisturizer for acne prone skin which will cost you $40 if you go to Sephora, and an amazing-smelling Korres body butter, which was a choice product, meaning I got to select this or a lip mask in advance (my earrings were another choice product, I could choose between 2 colors of the earrings or a bracelet). In terms of other beauty items, there’s also an ISH lip palette with a bunch of really nice lip shades and a brush, a Dove body scrub, and Dermelect Makeover ridge filler that gives your nails a natural pink color and helps prevent them from breaking and peeling, which I definitely need.
Home/lifestyle wise, you get an Anderson Lilley candle in a copper jar that has a really elegant, light smell. It’s a $45 (!!) value, although frankly, I would never pay that much for a candle even if I do love it. In the “fit” category there’s a rolling massager to use for post-workout sore muscles, or if you just have some aches or want a foot massage. Finally, I can’t wait to use my Free People/Understated Leather star-print eye mask on the flight to London for Harry and Meghan’s wedding! It even has a little cooling insert you can freeze. Again, I wouldn’t pay $40 for an eye mask so it’s awesome to have higher-end items like this in the box.
I’ll admit I was a bit worried I might end up with some things I don’t really like or need, but luckily, that’s not the case here at all. I’m super excited about these products and really can’t say there’s anything I won’t use and most likely re-buy in the future … minus the $45 candle. If you want to get all of this great stuff for $39.99, don’t forget to sign up using this link: http://xo.fff.me/icIUo
Royal Style in the Bauble Bar Sale
I was browsing the Bauble Bar site during their 25% off friends and family sale earlier this week (which happened in the middle of me switching hosting companies, so I couldn’t blog about it!) and noticed they also have a huge clearance section with markdowns up to 75% off. I spotted these Draco ear crawlers that resemble Meghan’s star-shaped ones and although they’re not quite my style, I thought some of you might be interested in these (they’re $18 on sale – half off!). Another similar royal style I found was the Marissa hoop earring. They’re yellow gold instead of white gold, but they do resemble Kate’s Robinson Pelham Aspen earrings she wore on the Sweden tour … except they don’t cost close to 7 grand!
I’ll be back next week with another Trunk Club review, a spring DIY project, and as usual, more Friday Faves. Have a great weekend!
