I’m on most of the big social media sites, but Instagram is definitely my favorite. I love photography and I’m always taking pictures, so this is the platform that speaks to me the most. There also tends to be way less drama and depressing stuff than Facebook, but maybe that’s just me.
Instagram is a great place if you’re a royal watcher because there are hundreds of royal-themed Instagram accounts out there. Of course, there are the official, palace-run pages, but there are so many fan accounts dedicated to Kate and Meghan, and especially their style. I’m also a fan of the Swedish royals and they’ve got some great Instagram accounts, too.
Here are some of my faves, and keep reading for a special giveaway!
Official Royal Accounts
@kensingtonroyal: The official account of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry – and soon, Meghan!
@theroyalfamily: Buckingham Palace’s official account for news about The Queen and the rest of the royal family.
@clarencehouse: Prince Charles and Camilla’s official Instagram account (their profile picture is my favorite picture of them ever!)
Royal Photographers & Media
@chrisjacksongetty: My favorite royal photographer takes amazing pictures on the road with the royals. He’s also married to Kate’s stylist and PA, Natasha – you can check out pictures of their gorgeous wedding in this Vogue article.
@arthuredwardsthesun: Arthur has been a royal photographer at The Sun since 1977! He posts some fab throwback photos from over the years as well as new photos of the royals.
@emilynashhello: Emily is a royal correspondent for Hello! magazine and a great source for royal family news.
The Duchess of Cambridge
If you didn’t already know, there’s a whole community of women on Instagram from around the world called Replikaters who follow the style of The Duchess of Cambridge. If you’re wondering how to emulate Kate’s looks, these accounts are the places to go. I’ve become quite good friends with some of these ladies over the years, and I’m even going to meet my British replikater friend Lauren at the royal wedding! I’m constantly inspired by the kindness, generosity, and resourcefulness of these women (seriously, if you ever want to be amazed, watch how fast a replikater can ID something based solely on a somewhat blurry photo, or find a sold-out-for-years piece on eBay and ship it across the globe to a friend they’ve never met).
Here’s a sampling of some replikaters to follow:
Other Kate fashion accounts:
@wwkd_official: What Would Kate Do is a fab site for everything Kate-related, and their Insta is full of the latest photos of the DOC. Also check out their database of similar looks for less at @wwkd_replikate.
@whatkatewore: If you want to know … well, what Kate wore, this is the blog to check out. They’re not as active on Insta as they are on Facebook, but still worth a follow.
There are three main Instagram accounts I go to for my Harry and Meghan news. If you want to find out when they have a new engagement on the diary, or see pictures from the latest event, these are the accounts to follow!
In terms of fashion, these are my favorite Meghan Markle Instagrams:
@shoplikemeghan: Meghan’s Mirror’s, my favorite Meghan website, has a fantastic Instagram account (run by the same team at What Would Kate Do)
@whatmeghanwore: Like What Kate Wore, this one is pretty self-explanatory!
@theroyalwatcher: Sarah does a great job of covering news and fashion for royals around the world, not just the British royals.
@theladysmaid: A former lady’s maid at Buckingham Palace, she posts really beautiful royalty-inspired outfit ideas.
@myfavouriteroyals: Another good account for photos of royals from around the world.
@swedishprincesses: If you’re a fan of the Swedish royal family, definitely check this one out!
@catherineandmadeleine: A very comprehensive collection of pictures dedicated to The Duchess of Cambridge and Sweden’s Princess Madeleine.
If you love collecting royal memorabilia, I have the giveaway for you. The newly-released Funko Pop royal family figures are a hot item, and I have one Duchess of Cambridge Funko to give away to a lucky reader! How cute is she? I have Kate in my London phonebooth curio cabinet, but she would look great on a bookshelf or your desk at work.
